With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Elias Atallah, who peacefully entered into the arms of our Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 74.
Born in Lebanon on July 10, 1951, Elias was the cherished son of the late Georges Atallah and Therese Abou-Assaf. A proud resident of Ottawa since 1985, he lived a life full of love, dedication, and compassion. Known for his kind heart, unwavering spirit, and endless generosity, he touched the lives of all who crossed his path. He was also known and admired as a jack-of-all-trades handyman, where the quality of his work spoke for itself, only ever relying on word-of-mouth.
Elias was a devoted husband and loving father whose steadfast support and affection created a foundation of strength, happiness, and treasured memories for his family.
His life was a reflection of Christ’s love as a devoted member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – marked by humility, compassion, and a constant readiness to help others. His faith was his anchor, carrying him through life’s challenges and offering comfort in his final days.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Helene Atallah (née Nakhle), and his son Charbel. His love for his family was limitless, and he will forever remain their guardian angel.
Elias is predeceased by his brother Atallah (Dolly), and is also survived by his loving brothers, Eddy (Fayzi), Dargham (Suzanne), and John and family; and his dear sisters: Hana (Elias Yacoub), Marie (George Georges), and Houda (Nasr Nahra). He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family in Canada, the United States of America, and Lebanon.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at: Beechwood Funeral Home – Beechwood's Sacred Space, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1L 8A6.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at: St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald Street, Ottawa, ON K1K 1N1.
Elias’ memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We find comfort in knowing he now rests in the loving embrace of our Lord, free from pain and suffering. His soul is at peace, and his enduring love will continue to guide and watch over us. His legacy of kindness and faith will remain an inspiration to all blessed to have known him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, surrounded by Jesus’s everlasting light and love.
