Emmette Shubal Diggs

With profound sorrow, the Diggs, Blanton, Collins, and Thomson families announce the untimely passing of our beloved Emmette Shubal Diggs. This sad event occurred on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in Ottawa, Canada. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Isabel Collins-Diggs; children, Emeisa, Madia, and Ramez Diggs; his mother, Tryphena Blanton; sisters Melvina & Daniela; brother Abraham, and a host of relatives and many great friends.

Emmette lived a wholesome life, and had a memorable and very positive impact on everyone he came in contact with throughout his sojourn on this earth. He was selfless in many respects, and even through his sickness and pain, he was more concerned about accommodating others and making them comfortable, than worrying about himself.

Emmette was a genuine family man and exemplified through his many efforts that he’d do whatever was necessary to care for his family. He will be sorely missed.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) for a Funeral Service on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. followed by an interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
