Passed away peacefully on September 12 2025, at the age of 89. The eldest daughter of the late Esther (née MacDonald) and Samuel Turner of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Bobbie is predeceased by her husband George (2010), sisters Delores (2016) and Donna (2025), and brothers Sammy (2010) and David (2017).
Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Kathleen, Janice (Phil), Karen (Denis), and Allyson; her grandchildren Emilia and Reid, Mark, Adam and Louis; her brother, Carl (Betty) and sisters Myrna, Joan and Linda (Jim).
A strong and independent woman, Bobbie had an innate ability to adapt to changing circumstances. She was a life long advocate of higher education and always encouraged her family to obtain their own independence through education.
Bobbie loved beautiful things. She was a gracious hostess, always excited for the opportunity to connect with family and friends at a luncheon or dinner party. She delighted in hosting these events, her table settings always elegant and the menu meticulously planned.
An advocate for disciplined living, Bobbie attributed her good physical health to many years of aqua-fitness, a place where she enjoyed so many cherished friendships. She would often say, ‘The fountain of youth, is in the pool.’
Despite her declining health, we are grateful that Mom always remained cooperative and content, her positive disposition made difficult decisions a bit easier.
Thank you to Bobbie’s devoted personal companion, Nancy. We are so grateful for your compassion, kindness and guidance over the years. Mom could not have had a more caring friend.
Thank you to the dedicated staff, in particular the fourth floor care team, at Chapel Hill Retirement Residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society, or to a charity of your choice.
A private family internment will be held at the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery at Beechwood Cemetery.

I knew your Mom from good Shepherd Parish. Such a lovely lady. While I was doing my Respite at Chapelier Hill in January 2024, through Nancy I met Bobbie, still the same lovely person I knew
It was a delightful to meet her again May she Rest in Peace.
We were sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. She did live a good busy life. I thought of her often but the last time I talked to her she seemed confused. She was very proud of "her girls" and you all made sure she had good care. Our prayers are with you
God Bless
