It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Mario Mendoza Delos Reyes on September 27, 2025, at the age of 71.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Mercedes; his daughters, Teresa/Che and Mariese (Raymond); and his grandchildren who he loved dearly, Nathaniel and Evangeline. Mario will also be missed by many relatives and friends.
Born in Alfonso, Cavite Philippines, Mario was the son of the late Melanio and Juana Delos Reyes, and is preceded in death by his brother, Virgilio Delos Reyes and sister, Angelita Delos Reyes.
Mario was a warm, generous soul whose humor and kindness touched everyone he met. He always put others first, protecting and uplifting his loved ones. His passion for sports — especially the Blue Jays, Raptors, Warriors, Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz — sparked countless and exciting conversations with those around him.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, October 3, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON K1A 8L6).
A funeral mass for Mario will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, at 1:00 pm at Good Shepherd Church (3092 Innes Road, Ottawa, ON K1W 1C8).
Family and friends are welcome to join the burial at 3:00 pm and reception at 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON K1A 8L6).
In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Mario Delos Reyes can be made to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
