EV was born extremely prematurely at 23+6. She surprised us then and had been surprising us ever since. We spent 70 days at the TOH General Campus’s nicu, and 48 days at the CHEO nicu. She passed away surrounded by her family and their love on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice in Ottawa.
EV loved sleeping on her tummy. Her many cute and soft blankets. Her flat bunny. Music. Getting a little workout in with chest physio. Cuddles with mama and daddy. Hearing mama sing to her. Sucking away on her soother. Having her hands up near her face; and occasionally holding onto her tube.
She demonstrated immense strength and perseverance. She took all her procedures like a champ. She was loved by so, so many. In her short life it was clear how many lives she touched.
Thank you to all the nicu staff at both TOH and CHEO, as well as the palliative care team and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral Home (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) for a Celebration of EV’s life on Thursday, December 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
