Major (Retired) Bradley Coombs
October 29, 1961 - November 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Major (Retired) Bradley Coombs on November 2, 2024, in his 63rd year, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Brad will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Loraine (Hanlon), and cherished by his children, Angela (Chris Trask) and Geoff. He was raised in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, by his parents, Valma and Gerald, alongside his brother, Blaine.

Brad proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 26 years before retiring in Ottawa. He enjoyed relaxing afternoons by the pool with Loraine, tending to the BBQ, and cheering on the Montreal Canadiens. Inspired by his father-in-law, Bill, he also enjoyed exploring the family genealogy and golfing with his brothers-in-law.

In honour of his memory, the family will hold a private graveside ceremony at the National Military Cemetery (Beechwood). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.

We are so sorry for your loss. And sad for his life cut short; he seemed to be enjoying his retirement so much. Bernard and I worked with Brad on the Chinook helicopter project. He was really wonderful to work with, easy to talk to and a good sense of humour. I called him our honorary engineer because he understood many maintenance engineering concepts that were important to the project. He will always be a member of the team.
