It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Young, beloved husband, son, uncle, brother, and friend, who peacefully left us at the age of 84 on October 12, 2024.
Ralph was the cherished son of the late Betty and Peter Young of Ottawa. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Frances Young, and his siblings Ray, Ricky (Gerri), Susan (the late Claude), and his late sister Stella (the late Paul). He was a treasured brother-in-law to Johanne Shaver and John Reinburg (Debra), and a special uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly.
Ralph’s passion for technology was evident throughout his life. He was the long-time owner and operator of Young's Computer in Ottawa, where he earned the respect and admiration of lifelong clients, community members, and friends alike for his dedication and warmth. His legacy will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Ralph was a hardworking man of quiet strength and integrity, with a deep love for his family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from spending time with his loved ones to always seeing the good in the world. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and were touched by his kindness.
A private family service has been held at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ottawa Mission, The Ottawa Food Bank, or Beechwood Cemetery—causes that Ralph held close to his heart.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Montfort Hospital, the first responders, and Alex with the Ottawa Police Service for their compassionate care of Ralph and his family during his final moments.

For many years Uncle Ralph was my go to for all of my business IT needs, when he retired and closed up shop, I had to hire my son Chase, he was so much more expensive than Ralph! I remember in the early years, our whole family practically lived in your backyard. I still remember him teaching me how to properly dive off the board, I believe the agenda was to stop splashing everyone with the numerous belly flops that created KOAS in your little piece of paradise. Ralph was a perfect gentleman, a great uncle, and really too kind to be a Young :) Fran and family, I am so very sorry for your loss, may your memories and the continued stories that are told of him warm your heart during this difficult time.
