Sharon and I became friends in grade nine at Malvern Collegiate in Toronto. As teenagers we vacationed with each other’s parents at Port Carling and Sparrow Lake. My husband Vince, our baby daughter, our dog and I joined Sharon and Fred at a cottage for the second week of their honeymoon…and so continued our lifetime of shared vacations…cottages, weekend getaways, skiing, biking and later Europe. Sharon’s expertise at finding vacation bargains was often the driving force behind our adventures. I’m grateful for the fun we had over the years. Sharon made the most of life.

I was privileged to have known Sharon and call her my friend. She was a thoughtful and kind person, reaching out to me throughout her illness to make sure I was ok. We enjoyed time at her cottage together, sharing meals together, volunteering at the GCTC, laughing together, and sharing our love of reading. I was honoured to be with her on her birthday in March and also spend time with her towards the end. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to Andy, Jamie , Daniel, Helen, Chris, Aiden and Evan. She loved you so much.

Sharon I will always remember your knack for telling a good story.. You had a great sense of humour, and on, those days when you felt tired, instead of doing yoga stretches, we would simply chat. You also loved teasing, and that became a part of our classes as well. One of my favourite stories is the one where you were obligated to teach music to an elementary class, but being tone deaf made this a poor fit. Rather than argue with the Principal, you agreed to teach music, and one day when the Principal came into class and heard you sing, he needed no convincing that it would be good idea to allow someone else to teach the music lesson. I love the way you told this story in an understated way. Listening to you share memories was always fun. Your indomitable spirit , your perseverance through your battle with cancer, and your generous heart, were gifts you gave me, and others who knew you. Sharon, you have a special place in my heart.
Andy, I have been amazed at all the wonderful ways in which you cared for Sharon, which allowed her to remain at home until the end.

I love reading all of these wonderful memories. ❤️My aunt Sharon and uncle Fred, and cousins Jaime and Daniel hold such a special place in my heart. Their home was always a warm and welcoming place, I remember learning to swim on summer days, delicous food and laughter each Christmas, playing croquet or bocce ball at the cottage. I feel so lucky to have these beautiful childhood memories with Sharon and family, she was a example of strength and dedication that I truly admire. Sending my love and hugs from Michigan to everyone.
Dear Daniel,
Sending you my sincere condolences for your loss. I hope that you and your family can find some peace during this difficult time. Kind regards, Janet
