It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his sudden passing on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 68. Son of the late Theodore Proulx and Marguerite Proulx (born Grenier). Beloved husband of 45 years to Gisele Proulx (born Levac). Loving father of Eric (Amira) and Isabelle (Nathan). Beloved Grandpa “Bobbie” to Eva. Beloved son-in-law to Fernand Levac (late Jacqueline). Dear brother of André Proulx (Lyne), Michèle Proulx, and JoAnne Proulx (Jean). Dear brother-in-law of Rhéa Levac (late Jean-Guy), Pierre Levac (Monique), Colette Mathieu (late Norman) and Yvon Levac (Sylvie). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bob was well known and respected for his work in the group health benefits field in which he excelled for 39 years. When he retired from the Cowan Insurance Group, he started a small business, Proulx Benefit Consulting Inc., and enjoyed working on a part-time basis with several clients.
He was a passionate fisherman and truly valued his time spent on the water and in the great outdoors. Also an avid golfer, he loved to be on the golf course and truly enjoyed the social aspect of the game. Bob loved to relax in his “oasis” backyard where he spent many evenings sitting on his deck, enjoying a good cigar and a scotch.
He cherished and loved his family dearly. He was always there to lend a helping hand whether it be his family, friends or neighbours. He was very handy at fixing practically anything.
Above all, his most treasured moments were those shared with family and friends. Bob, your absence leaves a huge void that cannot be filled and your spirit will forever resonate with us all. We will carry your love in our hearts forever. Until we meet again!
Family and friends are invited to the Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, for visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am and for the funeral ceremony from 10:00am to 11:00am. A reception will follow.
May your expressions of condolences be translated into donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
