Marika Kola, 90, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, in Ottawa, Canada, surrounded by her loving family.
Marika was born on June 22, 1933, in Meredita, Puke, Albania. She was the cherished daughter of Mark Jackaj and Margjela. Marika was a devoted wife to the late Mark Gjure Kola and a loving mother to her children: Kismet (Pashka), Agatina (Gilbert) , Christine, Marianne, Louise (Thomas), and Veronika (Khal). She was a proud grandmother to John (Julie), Elizabeth (Charles), Ashley (Josh), Anthony, Jason, Yasmine (Max), Tarek, Vanessa (Leo), Niko, and a beloved great-grandmother to Alexandre, Noah, Jad, Talia, Jacob, Lola, Jack, James, expecting a 9th great grandchild. Predeceased by her loving daughter Florina (Sandy) and Grandson (Misha)
Marika’s family was the center of her life, and she was dearly loved by many relatives and friends who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
Marika will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. ” To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die”.
Friends and family are invited to pay respects on Wednesday, May 29 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, K1L 8A6, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. and on Thursday, May 30, after 9:00 AM, Funeral Service will be held Thursday in the Sacred Space at 10:00 AM followed by interment and reception.
