It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Valérie Larouche on April 22, 2024, at the age of 33, in the serenity of her home in Ottawa. She was the beloved daughter of Martine Thibault and Jean Larouche.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. The family will be receiving condolences from 10 a.m. at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre.

With respect to Valérie’s last wishes, being an adventurer and nature lover, her ashes will be dispersed with love and dignity on the top of a mountain during an intimate family ceremony.

She was the triplet sister of Geneviève Larouche and Maxime Larouche, sister-in-law of James McGoff, godmother of Violet McGoff, and loving aunt of Léo McGoff.

She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

We ask that any donations be made out to the Anorexia Foundation of Quebec.

I am so saddened by the news of Valérie’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her in Staffing at the RCMP. We had many discussions about our common upbringing as “BRAT’s”. She was a hard working and dedicated but also always had a smile for everyone. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and she will be terribly missed by many. My deepest and sincerest condolences to her family. Rest easy Valérie.

I was so sorry when I heard this very sad news. My deepest sympathies to Val's loved ones - she was so smart, generous and forgiving, especially when I was attempting to speak to her in french. Rest in peace, Val

My deepest and sincerest condolences to you all.
Valérie was one of the first people I met when I started with Staffing at the RCMP, which kickstarted my long-standing connection with the organization. Her energy that she brought to work every day made it a joy to see her, and to call myself her colleague. She comes to mind whenever I see someone bike to the office, which leads me to remember the time she told me how she'd extend her commute to make it a worthwhile bike ride.
She touched more lives than one could ever realize, and will truly be missed.

My deepest condolences to your family for this unimaginable loss.

I met Valerie in 2016 when we both were new to the RCMP and beginning our careers. We later moved on to Organization & Classification where we shared many moments of laughter and overcame adversity together where we leaned on each other for support. I will remember Valerie for her resiliency, curiosity, joie de vivre and sense of adventure. I wish our last chat wasn't the last. Rest easy, Val. You will be sorely missed.
