Passed away in Ottawa, surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Nicole (neé Galipeau). Loving father of Sébastien (Emily) and Mireille (Rich). Cherished grandfather of Carolanne, Ève and Aiden. Brother of late Rhéa (Jean-Claude), Jackie (Marcel), Claudette (René), late Léo (Marie) and Claire (André). Predeceased by his parents Armand Harvey and Gilberte (neé Gervais). He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.  Jean was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a gentle soul whose actions spoke volumes of his kindness. His warmth and his smile will not be forgotten. He was a loyal employee with the Ottawa Catholic School Board of 32 and a half years.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood National Memorial Centre (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a Visitation on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space Chapel, followed by a Reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory to The Eye Foundation of Canada.

My deepest sympathies Nicole, Mireille ,Sebastien and family. Jean was such a beautiful person inside and out. Always in a good humour. I loved his laughter. He was always so nice nice to me every time he saw me. I have great memories of both of you meeting us at Sandbanks. He definitely made it to heaven and will be watching over all of you. Big hugs. I'm so sorry to hear about Jean's passing. It was a huge shock.

Jean always brightened my day with his smile and kind words. He was incredibly generous, always bringing in snacks to share. He will be deeply missed in our department at the OCSB.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.

Looking through the messages, we can all tell how much Jean was loved. I had the pleasure of working with Jean. He was always open to just listening and giving some advice. Last time we spoke, he told me how happy he was and content in life. He talked about his family with such great joy, you could tell how much he loved them. He will surely be missed. Miss ya buddy
