It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvio Cyr, who passed away suddenly at his home in Aylmer on January 1, 2024 at the age of 76. A native of Gaspésie, Sylvio was born on September 5, 1947, the son of the late Alexandrine Cyr (née Grenier) and the late Joseph William Cyr. He was predeceased by his sister Germaine.
He is survived by his spouse Louise Lanctot, his spouse's son Jean, sisters Rita and Lucienne (Ritchie), brothers Gaston (Kathy), Hermel (Renée) and André, brothers-in-law Henri (Penny) and Marc (Cathy) and nieces Annie (Benoît), Pascale, Julie (Conrad), Hélène (Mario), Josée (Guylain), Marilynn (Danny) and Mélissa (Olivier).
A ceremony, in the presence of the ashes, will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 11 a.m. at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. The family will receive condolences from 10 a.m.
