With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Ashley on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at the age of 39. Surrounded by her loving parents, Daniel and Cheryl, her sister Robyn and fiancé Chris, Ashley’s suffering has finally ended.

Ashley was always a fighter, never giving up. Starting with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, Ashley dealt with serious medical issues her entire life. From early on to her greatest battle with metastatic breast cancer in March 2023, she never quit the fight.

She underwent many types of treatment to beat this horrific disease and did so with bravery, integrity and grace. She so desperately wanted more time with her family and friends (as we all did, too), and was willing to undergo more chemotherapy, radiation and other treatments to continue fighting.

Ashley’s memory will live on through her parents, sister, future brother-in-law, extended family, friends, and her soon-to-be nephew.

Celebration of Life will be held for Ashley on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The Celebration will begin at 10:00 am with a service for family and friends to share memories, followed by a reception.

The family kindly requests donations to the Diabetes Association of Canada and/or to Breast Cancer Canada, instead of flowers.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

Dan, Cheryl, Robin and Chris, we will remember Ashley as a brave, courageous young woman who loved her family dearly. Hopefully, the wonderful memories you have of her life, well lived, will sustain you now and in the future.
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
And. Until we meet again
May Godhold Ashley in the palm of his hand

Heartbroken to hear the news of Ashley's passion. I have fond highschool memories of her and always loved playing with, or against :-)) her in softball. Rest in peace, sweet Ashley.

Ashley Lemire was the best - she was funny, and kind and so organized in the best way. Ashley set me up with my very first email address when I didn’t even know what that was. I will think of her often and smile, and have a laugh (especially when logging into redcar84 @hotmail) XO
