Knights of Columbus ex-Master District 6.

Loving Husband, Father and Pops.

Passed away September 14, 2023, at the age of 76.  Predeceased by his father André Amyotte, his brother Donald (André), his sister Diane, his sister-in-law Rita and brother-in-law Aurèle.

He leaves behind his loving wife Adriana who he adored for 55 years, his daughters Eileen (Ron) and Nathalie, and his three grandsons Éric, Jean-Luc (Rowan) and Daniel.  Pops was so proud of his grandsons and spoke of them often to all who would listen.

He will be missed by his mother Blanche Amyotte, his brothers and sisters: Victor (Claudette), Monique (Mike), Bob (Marlene), Janine (Floriant), Carole, and Richard (Janet) and many nieces and nephews.

Denis has touched many lives in his career in the Armed Forces, the Corp of Commissionaires and through his charity work with the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Church.  The loss is felt by his many friends and the community to which he gave so much time.

The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU) of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, as well as the staff at the Emergency Department of the Ottawa Hospital General Campus.  We thank you for your professionalism, compassion and the dignity you gave Denis.  Dad wanted the whole world (and a certain someone in Toronto) to know that the nurses of the ICCU are underpaid for the work they do.

Friends and family are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood ave. Ottawa, on Wednesday October 4th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held Thursday October 5that Marie Médiatrice Roman Catholic Church, 344 Cyr Avenue at 10:00 am. followed by internment at 11:30a.m. at the National Military Cemetery and a reception in the Borden & Fleming Suites of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

I knew Denis from our days at Lisgar to our move to Colonnade. He was good to me in many ways, always with a word of advice and encouragement. Sometimes we wish for our friends never to leave, sure left my wife and I with good memories

I have great Memories of happy times when our families would all get together. I loved when my dad would bring us to help pick the potatoes at the farm. Loved your sense of humor, and how real and honest you were.
