Liliane, daughter of the late Antoinette Motard and the late Émile Charette, died peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital on August 23, 2023 at age 91, with her family by her side.  Liliane leaves her loving husband and life partner of 71 years, Jean-Paul. She will be dearly missed by her children, Andrée (Walter), Jean (Elizabeth), Louis (Anne) and Pierre (Chantel); grandchildren Nadia (Kenny), Geneviève (Erik), Emilie (Simon), Jean-François (Valerie), Corinne, Gabrielle, Mathieu, Nicholas, Patrick, Michael, and James; great-grandchildren Celia, Sophie, and Josephine; all her nieces and nephews; and close friends.

She will be fondly remembered by her sister Thérèse Béland (late Roger), her brother Gérard Charette (late Simone), her brother-in-law Louis-Marcel Desjardins (Yvonne) and her sister-in-law Yolande Boudreau (Rhéal).

Liliane was predeceased by her sisters Denise Corbin (late Aldéo) and Simone Michaelsen (late Odd), half-sisters Pierrette Bédard (late Rosario) and Françoise Kingsley (late Oscar), half-brothers Jean-Paul Charette (late Jacqueline), Raoul Charette (late Jeannine) and Marcel Charette (late Liliane), and sister-in-law Jacqueline Bélanger (late Robert).

Liliane and Jean-Paul traveled extensively throughout the world over many years and Liliane made it a point to keep up with current affairs and world news.  Liliane had an ever-present infectious smile and enjoyed, most of all, time spent with her family and friends.

The family expresses gratitude to the extremely caring and compassionate staff at the Ottawa General Hospital and, especially, to Dr. Peter Munene, Dr. Adrianna Bruni, and their Palliative Care team.  Many thanks to Dr. Ruth Farey, Vanessa, Sherry, Susan, and the rest of the Maplewood Retirement Home staff.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life ceremony to be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. A reception will follow on site.

In memoriam donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
