Sharon passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at her home in Ottawa at the age of 64, on Monday, August 7, 2023. Beloved wife of Umberto Veraldi and cherished mother of Francesco Veraldi (Debra) and Michele Veraldi (Julianne). Sharon will also be sadly missed by her siblings (Michael, Theresa, Gail, and Catherine). Predeceased by her parents, David and Mary Haché.

Sharon was happiest when spending time with her family and friends or supporting her boys. Her unrelenting perseverance and larger-than-life personality brought strength to those around her and afforded her the unique ability to focus on the light and the journey during difficult times. Sharon will be remembered for her love, laughter and for being unapologetically herself at all times, never hesitating to provide motherly advice and support or speak her mind to those around her.

A special thanks to those who went above and beyond to support Sharon’s wishes to be at home; to the oncology and support teams at The Ottawa Hospital; and to all those who supported Sharon through her journey.

Visitation will take place at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm. As per Sharon’s wishes, no additional services will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I worked with Sharon when I arrived at CSLP and she was a great mentor. Furthermore, I always enjoyed working with her. I still remember her smile and her laugh across the room. She will be dearly missed by all her ex-colleagues and her immediate family. Rest in peace Sharon!

Though I didn’t get to see Sharon as much in our adult years every time I did I walked away thinking how amazing she was. So hard-working and clearly a loving Mom so proud of her boys, but also so level-headed and refreshingly honest. I’m so sorry for your loss, she will certainly be missed but very fondly remembered.

Dear Veraldi Family:

I was very saddened to learn of Sharon’s death. She was a wonderful person, and it was a pleasure to work with her at the CSLP. A small group of us enjoyed keeping in touch, most recently meeting in June at my house. Sharon was as positive and energetic as ever, and truly inspiring in her courage and fortitude. I will always remember her exuberant laugh, and I hope that time will help all of you heal. May your happy memories of her bring you much comfort in the days ahead.

With deepest condolences,

Kerry-Lee

Aunty Sharon was a bright and vibrant part of our lives. She didn't believe in just friendships, if you were a part of her life you were family. Her arms and door was always open and ready to welcome any9ne with love and warmth. To see her so well loved has been a blessing during sad times. She will always be remembered for her joyus smile and boisterous laugh. Thank you Aunty Sharon, your love and light made the world a brighter place.

My condolences to the Veraldi family. Sharon Veraldi, a name that is hard to forget. She was wonderful, charming and direct and had a wealth of knowledge which she willingly shared. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
