Domynique Fortin passed away peacefully at home on 8 May, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles Hobbs, (married 40+ years) and two sons, Matthew Moneypenny-Hobbs (Jaclyn Moneypenny) and Timothy Hobbs (Sara Euser), as well as numerous brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Domynique first met Charles in Shilo, Manitoba, where she worked as a French Language Teacher.  She accompanied Charles on his military career, experiencing twelve different postings including Cyprus, Halifax, Calgary, St. Hubert, Petawawa, Germany (two times), and Ottawa (three times).  She loved to travel, and excelled at learning languages, being fluent in French and English, but also speaking German and Spanish.

Domynique had a wonderful personality and was always well liked by everyone she met.  She was very loving and independent, with a great sense of humour.  She was a superb cook and enjoyed life to the fullest.  A fabulous correspondent, a letter or note from her was always a joy to receive and read.

At her request, there will be no memorial funeral, and her body has been cremated.  The family will hold a private Celebration of Life later this summer, and she will be interred at Beechwood Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, she has requested that any donation be given to your local Food Bank.
