On April 13, 2023 at age 79 Catherine passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side at St Patrick’s Home in Ottawa. Catherine was predeceased by her parents Florence Hudson and William “Ger” Rath,  as well as sister Carolyn Patricia Joiner. She will be dearly missed by her children Carolyn ( Jacques) Tremblay, Elizabeth (Stephen) Plant, Geoff (Megan) Nevin and her grandchildren Natalie(Kevin), Justin, Alexander, Matthew, John and Keith.

Catherine was born in Toronto and grew up in Ottawa.  She lived in several towns and cities including Churchill, Victoria, Winnipeg, San Diego and Inuvik.

She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed sewing, baking and caring for her family.  She was known for her sense of humour and beautiful smile. She enjoyed taking walks in nature and enjoyed the scenery of Hog’s Back and Mooney’s Bay.  She loved ice cream and taking drives in the country.

We would like to thank the staff of St. Patrick’s Home for their kind and thoughtful care. Thank you to friends and family who have offered their love and support.

Cremation entrusted to Beechwood Cemetery.  A private family service will be held in June.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation please consider donating to St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Foundation.
