My condolences on the passing of Gordie. I knew him best from our mutual time at the Hylands golf course. He was a true gentleman, inspiring golfer, and wise when commenting on newsworthy events. I will miss his company. Rest In Peace , my friend.

I never had the opportunity to meet Gordie but know Helene well through working at CMPA and our ladies' breakfasts since both retiring. You are one of the most kind and caring people I know, Helene, and your immediate and extended families have always been your greatest love. I am so sorry that the time you and Gordie earned and deserved in retirement was suddenly stopped. My spiritual side says that he is ok, playing golf with some of the greats on the most beautiful courses you can imagine! My love to you, Helene. and thoughts of consolation to your family and friends who knew Gordie well. Vivienne xxx

My heartfelt condolences go out to Helene and family. I first met Gord during his visits to Nova Scotia in the summertime. He had a great sense of humour and loved the outdoors. I will miss his good nature and hearty laugh.
I was heart broken to hear of my good friend, Gordie's passing.
We shared so many great memories and times together in our teenage years. My Mother always referred to Gordie as "Gentleman Gord". As teenagers we attended Brookfield HS, double dated, played hockey on several teams together, played football and golfed many games. Gordie and I spent an Easter school break together and painted the Rideau Glen Golf Clubhouse, inside and out (I will never forget that he humorously painted my shoes while I was on the upper end of the ladder).
It was great to reunite with Gordie in our latter years and for Heather and I to spend time with his lovely wife, Helene, during their retirement time in Florida and in Ottawa. Bill Carisse and I will miss our special annual golf matches with Gordie.
Gordie leaves behind many, many fond memories for me.
