In loving memory of Cesarina Vezzaro (nee Giuriato) who passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023, at age 85 with her loving family and beloved husband Luigino by her side. They affectionately called each other Cea and Ceo. February 11th was also their 66th wedding anniversary, a loving milestone that symbolized their devotion to each other.

Born second daughter to Girolamo Giuriato and Eufemia (nee Gasparella) in Atlavilla, Vicentina, Italy, Cesarina married Luigino on February 11th, 1957. She followed him a year later to “explore” Canada. That exploration lasted a lifetime as they developed deep friendships and remained involved in the Vincentini Community here in Ottawa. Cesarina was always surrounded by family, and did everything together with her husband. This included traveling every year, often back to visit Italy, owning a business, enjoying their cottage, and raising three children.  She was happiest enjoying her plants, gardens, and the company of family and friends over home-cooked meals and home-made vino.

A selfless and devoted mother to Morena (Giacomo), Corrado (Lynda), and Nilvio (Sihem). Proud nonna, she will be greatly missed by grandchildren, Kyle, Ryanna (Sean), Amadeo (Rebecca), Riley, Tyanna and Raphael.  Bisnonna to her great-grandchildren Jude, Rory, Isla and Mila. She will be sadly missed by her late sister Mirella (late Ottorino) and her surviving brothers Gianni (Rosanna), Angelo (Franca) and Renato (Maria) of Italy. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews from Italy.

Many thanks to her physicians Dr. Irani and Dr. Skaff, Cardiologists Dr. Niznick and Dr. Chamoun, and to her PSW’s for their care throughout the years. Also, a special thank-you to the team of nurses and doctors at the Ottawa General Hospital, including Cardiologist Dr. Nadine Gauthier of the Coronary Care Unit.

You may pay your respects to Cesarina and her family from 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023, followed by a memorial service from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, in the Chapel at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Drive. A reception to celebrate her life follows immediately after the memorial service from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in a room next to the Chapel in the same building.

Donations could be made in memory of Cesarina Vezzaro to the Ottawa General Hospital.

Sarai per sempre nei nostri pensieri e nei nostri cuori.
