I soldiered with Jerry on a few occasions and served as his deputy in Cyprus with the Canadian Airborne Regiment. He was one of the most gentlemanly, honourable, professional officers I ever knew. He was morally strong with a strength of character seldom seen. We have lost a good man. Tricia and I extend our deepest condolences to Jean and family.

I felt lucky to have served with Gerry in Cyprus in 1974/75 at such an early time in my career to learn from his professionalism and enjoy his sense of humor. Highly respected by all who knew him as both a soldier and a friend, he will be greatly missed. Nancy and I send our sincere condolences to Jean and family.

I had the privilege of serving with Jerry when he was Director of Infantry at NDHQ. He was an exemplary officer, whose knowledge and myriad interpersonal skills I was so fortunate to experience. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of serving with him. My thoughts are with Jean and all of Jerry's family at this most difficult of times. May Jerry rest in peace. Pro Patria.

My deepest condolences to Heather and family on the passing of Mr. Thompson. I had the pleasure of meeting Heather's parents a few times over the past 25 years. Lovely, adorable couple. Each time, it was confirmed what Heather always shared. Mr. Thompson was a strong, kind beloved father. Deepest condolences ❤
