It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia Croft on Dec 29, 2022 at the age of 79. She is survived by her loving husband Capt (N) John Croft Ret'd, her daughter Susan Elizabeth Diotte and Grandson Christopher John Diotte. The best Wife, Mom, Uma, Friend, anyone could ask for!
Pat was born in St Thomas, Ontario on October 22nd 1943, but spent most of her youth in Oshawa Ontario. In 1961 she went to Queen's University in Kingston where she met the love of her life, RMC Cadet John Croft and after graduation, the two were married in August 1964 and embarked on a life long adventure. A" honeymoon" trip to Halifax was the start of many postings between 1964 - 1980 with the Navy, and Debert NS and Virginia Beach, Virginia were 2 of her favourites.
After that, Ottawa was home, and she made anyone who came to the house, feel that way. Pat loved her family with all her might! She adored her husband John of 58 years, daughter Susan and her Grandson Christopher, as well as many, many, cherished friends. Pat loved to cook, entertain, travel, laugh and nobody's Butter tarts were better than hers. She also treasured spending time at her special places, whether it was at the cottage in the Muskoka's feeding the chipmunks or going to the theatre in Stratford Ontario, or travelling with family and friends worldwide. She was the best of all of us and will be so missed!
At Pat's request there will no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.

Pat was a wonderful person and always so giving of herself to others. My nieces will always remember the delicious and meticulously decorated Christmas cookies that were a ‘must have’ for afternoon ‘tea’ with their uncle.
My heartfelt and most sincere condolences to John, Sue, Christopher and extended family.

The fish camp will never be the same without Pat's butter tarts. Most sincere condolences to her family and friends on this great loss.

To John and family our heartfelt condolences. I was always somewhat in awe of my cousin Pat. Although I was probably the annoying little brother of cousin Laurel she still found time for me. During the times she stayed with us during the summer she was always kind and amazing. She even tried to teach me Latin , never once telling me I was hopeless. I have many fond memories of Pat which I have shared with my family and as such she will always be in our hearts.

To John and family our deepest sympathies. I always looked forward to Pat coming to visit us in Burlington during the summer. Although I was just cousin Laurel’s annoying younger brother she always had time for me. She even tried to teach me Latin and although not the success she hoped for she never once called me hopeless. I have many happy memories of times in both Burlington and Oshawa which I have shared with my family. As such she will remain in our hearts forever.

To John, Susan, Chris, Family Members & Friends,
The members of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers Association were deeply saddened by the news of Patricia's passing. When Pat hosted gatherings in your home, during the time you were serving as the Commander CFSRS, her pleasant personality always made invited guests feel immediately welcomed. She was a delightful person who left a positive and joyful impression with everyone she met. Please know that as members of your SUPRAD family, we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. God Bless.
