June Holmes, 75, of Ottawa died suddenly on October 28th after a brief illness. She was born in the last four minutes of June in 1947 to Antanas and Veronika Rasimavicius of Verdun, Quebec. June was a loving and most supportive mother and mother-in-law to Glenn and Barb of Orangeville and Allison of Ottawa; the proudest possible Nana of Lauren and Connor; and a most special Ninja and Wise Elder to Astyn. She was dearly, even fiercely, loved by them all and is already missed beyond words.  June was a single parent who put her children ahead of everything and who was always so proud of their accomplishments. She loved to celebrate holidays and lived for a good laugh. She was loved and respected by so many and she enjoyed life-long friendships that continued for decades. Our world is a little less bright for her having passed. Always believing that she had something to share, June never failed to sponsor MSF, WorldVision, and The War Amps, and donations in her memory to any of these would be greatly appreciated. And when you see a Salvation Army kettle this winter, please drop in a twenty and think of her. You’d have made her smile a little brighter. A Celebration of Life will take place at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at 10am.

Dear Allison, Glenn, Barb, Lauren and Connor, we are so very sorry to hear of June’s unexpected and sudden passing.
When I first started work at St G’s her friendly smile and kindness made me feel so welcome . Her sincere interest and amazing listening skills made her everyone’s « go to » person for advice and always a good laugh.
Please accept of condolences for such a tragic loss.

June was my first, dearest and oldest friend. My home was June’s second home, growing up. My parents treated her like a daughter and she was the big sister I never had. I loved her compassion, generosity and absolutely delightful sense of humour! My own family benefited from those wonderful qualities for many years and I know June will be sorely missed!

Dear Allison,

I am sorry to hear of June’s sudden passing. I was fortunate to meet her several times and enjoyed bringing our moms on that conference trip to Toronto many years ago. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Allison, Glenn, Barb, Lauren and Connor,
My sincerest condolences. June was indeed a phenomenal mother as well as a grandmother extraordinaire. She really set the bar high with her love, care and compassion for her family. With regard to her "extended family", I'm sure that there are many who would agree with me that June was a sweet, engaged, competent, and capable "rock" stationed for many years at the front desk of St. George's foyer with an open ear and an open heart. She will be sorely missed.

Dear Allison, Glenn, Barb, Lauren and Connor,
I am so sorry to hear of June's passing.
June was so welcoming to me when I first started at St George's. She showed me the ropes and was always cheerful. We even did some Concordia classes together! She also was very supportive of me as a new mom, which I so appreciated.
My heartfelt condolences on your loss.
