Suddenly on June 14, 2022. Predeceased by his son Alexander. Beloved son of Gorden Douglas and Mary Jane (Hocking). Survived by his loving wife Vickie and sister Kathleen Jensen (Mark). Sadly missed by his aunts, Kathleen Gamble, Georgia Gull (Richard Smith) Dianna Martin (Fernand), uncle James Hocking, niece, Darcy and nephew Kevin Jensen, his cousins and his many friends.

Bill’s constant companion was his dog “Tyson”. His extended family included Kate  (Averie and Colton), Danny and Thomas (Melanie), Christopher, Bill and Jeanine, Steven and Genene, Tim, Steve and Barb. Bill is also lovingly remembered by Vivianne, Marcia, Jasmine, Chloe and Hannah.

He enjoyed his motorcycles and drifting down the Rideau in his boat. A fish or two was always a bonus. Bill believed a bad day on the range was better than a great day at work, not that there was ever a bad day at the Stittsville Shooting Club.

Resting at Beechwood Funeral Home, Ottawa

Visiting July 13, 2022, 1200 to 1400 with interment immediately following in the National Military Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

What started out as a work relationship turned into an awesome friendship. We will never forget the late night Facetime video calls and the numerous coffees in the garage with you Vickie and Tyson. We will never forget you.

Had the fortunate of working with Bill for a number of years. He is greatly missed and will be very hard to replace. If you had an issue, problem or question he was the one you would go to. He was always available to help you. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.

A co-work, a colleague and fellow veteran. We both have had the chance to share a part of our lives with Bill over the years. Helping to pack or unpack for postings or moves across town, share a bbq, out for scoots on our Harley's, or simply conversation and a lot of coffee drinking in the garage! There is no doubt Bill was a remarkable person and significant in a lot of peoples lives. He is our friend... and a friend is the family you get to choose. Bill will be missed. Our thoughts are with all of Bill's family and friends, we share their loss.

Bill you will surely be missed by all who knew you. A gentle giant who always had time for everyone. The big smile that you would give to me when we would pass each other at Tunney’s will be a memory I will cherish. You now ride above us keeping watch. RIP my friend.
