Suddenly on June 14, 2022. Predeceased by his son Alexander. Beloved son of Gorden Douglas and Mary Jane (Hocking). Survived by his loving wife Vickie and sister Kathleen Jensen (Mark). Sadly missed by his aunts, Kathleen Gamble, Georgia Gull (Richard Smith) Dianna Martin (Fernand), uncle James Hocking, niece, Darcy and nephew Kevin Jensen, his cousins and his many friends.

Bill’s constant companion was his dog “Tyson”. His extended family included Kate  (Averie and Colton), Danny and Thomas (Melanie), Christopher, Bill and Jeanine, Steven and Genene, Tim, Steve and Barb. Bill is also lovingly remembered by Vivianne, Marcia, Jasmine, Chloe and Hannah.

He enjoyed his motorcycles and drifting down the Rideau in his boat. A fish or two was always a bonus. Bill believed a bad day on the range was better than a great day at work, not that there was ever a bad day at the Stittsville Shooting Club.

Resting at Beechwood Funeral Home, Ottawa

Visiting July 13, 2022, 1200 to 1400 with interment immediately following in the National Military Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Hard to say goodbye for now to you known to our family as our gentle giant. We know you will always watch over your Mom and all the other loved ones in your life. Im glad that we had a chance to see you when you came camping in Consecon and Richard and I were able to share our trip to LV with you and Vickie.
Great memories of you as my nephew when you were growing up as well. Rest well, you will always remain in our hearts.

Rest in Peace, my old friend. Bill took his work seriously, but he really cherished the friendships he built over time. He was so much better than I was at keeping in touch. We'd go months without talking then I'd get a call out of the blue and we'd chat for an hour. Such a loyal guy with a big heart...I know his life really turned around when he met Vickie and I never knew him to be happier. Until we meet again in Valhalla, buddy. Cheers

Gentle Giant, my twin tower at work and never a dull moment always full of stories to share after his weekend getaways on his Rumbling bike.
Always seems to have a solution to any question with added humor or Bill sarcasm followed by a big Bill's smile of "there you go". The man knew everything or knew a guy that knew another guy that knew. You will be missed! RIP.
