Gordon Jeffery Brownlee, 63, passed away on June 23rd, 2022, surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife Carolyn (Sims), and daughter Kylie (Brownlee). Loving uncle to Amelie and Daniel Drouin, and beloved sister-in-law Lisa Drouin (Marc Drouin). He will be missed by many friends and extended family, too many to name. You will always be in our hearts. He was born to parents John Keith Brownlee and Margot Heather Brownlee in on April 27th, 1959, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Gord loved to travel, ride motorcycles and was an avid skier. When he had down time, he enjoyed watching old black and white movies, reading, watching travel videos, and grabbing a drink with friends.
We wish to thank Gord’s care team. Dr. Bowles, Dr. Asmis, Dr. Whetter and Dr. Brodeur, who all went above and beyond to ensure Gord received exceptional care during his illness. We especially want to thank Benny De Guzman for the in-house care he gave Gord – you are a marvel. Your presence was a life line during such a difficult time and we cannot thank you enough.
Friends are invited to gather in the Scared Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa ON K1L 8A6 on Tuesday, June 28th after 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. followed by interment and reception.
Gord wished for any donations to be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada to help raise funds to further research this untreatable disease.

A kinder and more giving man I have not met. You taught Daniel at the age of 4 how to dirt bike and later how to ski. You cared and you listened- always. This is a hard loss. You gave this horrible cancer all you had Gord and through it all you still focussed on others. You weren’t just a brother in law. You were my brother ❤️ You were always my rock through loss and guided us as a family through so many difficult times. I love you Gord. I promise to always take the best care of Kylie and Carolyn

Eleven years is a pretty big gap in cousin years but Gord always spent time with my sisters and I when we visited Ottawa. Whether it was taking us to a movie or skiing or using us a bait for "Doberman dog training" we enjoyed our time on the Brownlee farm in Stittsville with him, Uncle Boo-Boo and Auntie Margot. They are all gone now but their memories live on with those who loved them. My deepest condolences to Carolyn and Kylie on a life cut short. xo

Sincere condolences to the family. Gord was a work colleague at CBSA. I still remember all his funny stories and his travel adventures, his skip trips and the fun he had with his sports car and motorcycle. Gordie was a wonderful cousin..I looked forward to seeing him during visits to “overcome” where we would spend time catching up…he always had adventure planned or a new race car and looked forward to hearing what he lined up next…as I grew into adulthood ..I would bump into Gordie in various bars in Ottawa..where I would over hear him putting on various accents to impress.. the character he was…he knew when I saw him..I could spoil the game…it was always a joy meeting up with him by chance…I also remember working downtown Ottawa and by chance seeing him through the window hanging cable…quite a surprise to see your cousins by chance on a ladder outside the window at your workplace..I adored and looked up to him as a brother…especially after losing my own…after moving to Georgia USA…Gordie and family made special trips to come and see me and my sister…I will miss him dearly…I hold each memory close to my heart…love you Gordie ❤️So happy God gave me such a dynamic, exciting cousin..to make life that much more interesting…you are and will be greatly missed….. but have wonderful memories to cherish…rest well til we meet again….and hope you are reunited with your Mom and Dad and all the family “overcome” who have passed ahead of us…as I know you would receive a very warm welcome…and be showered with love.
