It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Gail McCooeye at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Gail was born in Halifax Nova Scotia on August 12, 1947. She is predeceased by her beloved partner the late Harold Smith and her parents Raymond and Elaine Densmore. Much loved mother of Tammy McCooeye (Gary) and Christopher McCooeye. Gail was cherished by her 4 grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. Dear sister of Raymond Densmore (Helen), Cheryl Morris (Michael), Lyn, Dawn, David and Alanna Densmore. Gail will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Due to Covid, a Memorial Service will be held at Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at 10:00AM. For those not able to attend in person, you may register at the livestreaming link found above. We would like to thank the amazing staff at Bruyere Hospital Palliative Care Unit for her wonderful care. Our family is truly grateful. Memorial donations would be welcome to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute or East Noel Heritage Schoolhouse Society, C/O Effie Hilchie, 6519 Hwy 215 Hants County Nova Scotia B0N 1T0.
