It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Laurence Way (nee Galhidi). Laurence passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She is survived by her husband Mike Way, her soul mate of 32 years, her beloved children Mathieu Way and Alexandre Way. Dear daughter of Danielle Marchand and of the late Jenö Galhidi. Laurence was the dear sister of Fabienne Galhidi, and the aunt and godmother of Ève Galhidi Gratton. Laurence is also survived by her half siblings, Caroline Galhidi (Pascal), Christine Galhidi, Charles Galhidi (Amanda), as well as many nephews and nieces, aunts, and uncles. Laurence leaves behind her beloved dog and companion Maui, who comforted her throughout her long journey. Her infectious smile and good nature will remain with us forever. Laurence’s passion was devoting her time to her husband and children and will always be remembered as a strong, positive, and extremely joyous and gracious lady.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Hilton, Dr. Whetter, Dr. Wang, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Gautam for the wonderful care given over the last 5 years, as well as the May Court Palliative Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Laurence’s memory to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.

Mike, our sincere condolences to you and the boys. This is a beautiful photo of Laurence and as I remember, always a big smile. I have no doubt that Laurence battled hard, was so very courageous and would have meant so much to her to have you all by her side. She will always be with you. Big hugs to you all.

Mike and family: I am so very sorry for your loss. My parents, Marjorie and John, were very fond of Laurence and I am grateful for the years that Laurence checked in on their house, which enabled them to complete some of their bucket list travel. Laurence was a kind, caring gentle soul; ready smile and kind eyes. May she rest in peace and rise in Glory.

I knew Laurence from her work with Regus at the Chateau Laurier. She was unfailingly helpful and kind, but also smart. Taught me some important lessons about Ottawa history too. My sincere sympathies.
