The funeral will be livestreamed at the following link on Saturday, February 12th at 1pm - https://foveo.stream/s/__?quickJoinCode=84366&yt

Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family February 4th, two days after his 50th birthday, due to complications relating to covid. Eldest son of (the late) Evalds Jermacans and Daina Jermacans, beloved husband and best friend of Andrea Lewandowski, treasured father of Vivian Jermacans, and big brother of Andrew (Arlene), Elizabeth (James), and Laura (Skylar). He will be missed tremendously by multiple nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Davis will always be remembered for his quirky sense of humour, his passion for camping and gardening, his prowess in cooking and creating fermented food and drinks from scratch, his faith in God, his interest in politics and travel, and his larger-than-life love for his precious little girl. Davis was a frequent champion of his family’s annual chili competition, our top choice in the 2014 Ottawa municipal election, and in our hearts, he will forever be King Davis of the Osgoode Medieval Festival.

Friends and Family are invited to visit at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, February 10, and Friday, February 11. The Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood at 1pm on Saturday, February 12. Due to capacity restrictions, guests are invited to reserve their attendance.

Flowers are welcome, as are donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation or World Vision.

Jealous of the angles around the throne tonight. They have Davis at their side. Although he will always be with us either in quiet moments of remembrance or in times of laughter when those wonderful memories of him come to light. His memory will live forever in our hearts.

My first conversation with Davis was in my backyard. I was gardening; he was campaigning. We had a really lively chat. Okay, I was lively and he listened intently. He asked me if I was Latvian when he noticed my distinctive Latvian ring. He explained the significance of its shape. I had no idea since I am not Latvian. He made me feel valued in our conversation and was so inspired, i joined his campaign team. It was a pleasure to walk the trails with him even though the weather was typically rainy and cold. We pushed through anyways and finished the goal of reaching everyone. I really appreciated the eloquence, intelligence, and kindness in his speeches and arguments. After the campaign, I knew him as a brother-in-Christ at church (he sat in "The Tall Section", especially when Laura and Skylar were also at church) and as a neighbour a few houses down. He was a good man.
Andrea, Vivian, Laura, and Skylar, I pray that God's peace will hold you close.
Love and blessings, always.

Words will never convey how truly sorry I am for your loss. Davis was such a genuinely kind and caring man — such a rarity in today’s world.

He was ‘Laura’s super cool older brother’ who always had a never-ending supply of free tickets to Canada’s Wonderland and hilarious stories about his “evil” cat. As years went by, we didn’t see each other much, but when we did, he always took the time to chat, catch-up, and show me pictures of his beloved Vivian. I adored seeing him so happy.

I’ll never forget him.
