It is with great regret and sorrow that we, the family of Georgina Rose (née May) Lislois announce her peaceful passing at home in Orléans, Ontario, on February 17th, 2021. Georgina was the loving, cherished wife of Lieutenant-Colonel (retired) Georges Lislois. She was 81.
Georgina was born in Belleoram, Newfoundland to the late James Keefe and Frances (Rose) May and is survived by her 4 siblings, Beverly (Richard) Evans, Heather (Douglas) Wort, Brenda May, and Roger (Bonnie) May who will always be thankful for their loving, kind generous big sister. Although her childhood days were spent in Westmount, Cape Breton, she never lost that distinctive Newfoundland sense of wit and humour.
She will be forever remembered by her 5 children, Jim (Tara), Ron (Karen), David (Shannon) and Jeffrey (Kelly). She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda.
Georgina was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Tim (Jenna), Kimberlee (Derick), Kellilyn (Alex), Kelsea, Josh, Nathalie, and Kyle and great-grandmother to 5 great-grandchildren, WestLee, Castiel, TerriLyn, BrendaLee, and Dustin. She was predeceased by granddaughter Erin.
Georgina is also survived by her mother-in-law Madeleine Leduc (Late Georges C. Lislois), sister-in-law, Sylvie Lislois (Yanik) and several nieces and nephews who will always remember her pleasant, welcoming, nature.
Georgina was a military wife, for many years, cultivating several lifelong friends, as she moved about various locations, in Canada, as well as a few years in Virginia. At each posting, she had the ingenuity to create and excel in many employment opportunities. Georgina’s creative talents included decorating, homemaking skills and sewing. Her last few years were spent making beautiful quilts for her home, children, grandchildren and siblings. These will be forever treasured memories of our Georgina.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the professional and compassionate care Georgina received during her illness from the team at the Champlain Community Care Access Centre (Champlain CCAC), the nurses at Carefor Health and Community Services, and the palliative care physicians: Dr. D. Vincent, Dr. M. Rioux, Dr. R. Plantive, and Dr. H. Moore.
In lieu of flowers, it was Georgina's wish that donations in her honour could be made to Operation Smile: https://secure.operationsmile.ca/site/TR/OneSmile/mySMILE_DIY_TR/417960982;jsessionid=00000000.app20102c?NONCE_TOKEN=EAE9F77F7C690A6334D5E7D172A15C7D&px=1200947&pg=personal&fr_id=1130, to the Ottawa Humane Society or to a charity of your choice
Rest in peace, Georgina.

The best mother anyone could ask to have! I was privileged enough to enjoy my whole life with her and will cherish several moments for the rest of my life. Love you Ma!
