A Remembrance Day Visit 2020 by the Governor General

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada finished Remembrance Day with a visit personal to the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery where she laid flowers at the Cross of Sacrifice.

Erected in 1958 by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the Cross of Sacrifice resides in a section of the cemetery dedicated to the memory of Canadian service personnel who honourably served their country in war and peace, at home and abroad, and are now at rest.
