Beechwood’s Living Library: Celebrating Canada’s trailblazers

From a pioneering athlete who broke barriers in women’s sports during the 1920s to the country’s leading paleontologist, this year’s Living Library at Beechwood Cemetery will honour trailblazers. On Sept. 7, participants will have the opportunity to step into history and learn about the legacies of four Canadians who helped shape the nation.

“Canadian history is rich in diversity and achievement,” said Nick McCarthy, Beechwood’s director of marketing, communications and community outreach. “We wanted to show how four people — each from a different walk of life, each breaking new ground in their field — are now laid to rest together in Canada’s national cemetery.”
