It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of May Elizabeth Houle on April 25, 2025, at the age of 71.
Beloved mother of Melanie Houle and cherished mother-in-law of Robert Clippingdale, May was the devoted daughter of the late René Houle and Rita Villeneuve. She was a loving sister to Annette (Armand), Philippe (Monica), Raymond (Barbara), Jacques (Michele), and is predeceased by her siblings; Lorraine (Karl), René Jr. (Lina), Lina (Maurice), Arthur (Francine), Aline (Joe), Louise (Henry), and Suzanne (Harold). She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
May dedicated 45 years of her life to Canadian Bank Note before retiring. She was an avid reader, always had a book nearby, and never passed up the chance to enjoy a good game of bingo. Though small in stature, May was mighty in spirit — sassy, strong-willed, and full of heart. Her warmth, humour, and love for simple joys touched all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa for their compassionate care and support during May’s final days.
In keeping with May’s wishes, a private service at a later date will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
