It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of George A. Stewart of Aberdeen Scotland, Woodstock and Ottawa Ontario. George passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, after a short illness. He is now with his dearly beloved wife Jean M. Stewart and his cherished youngest child Sheena Stewart.

He was a devoted Father to Leslie, John and James (Sylvie), and a loving Grandfather to Alana Farmer, Randi Farmer (Calgary AB), Alexander Fels (Lauren) (Oxford, UK) and Sabrina Stewart (Aylmer, PQ).

The Stewart Family wishes to acknowledge the support and care of his many friends, his church, the Valley Stream Retirement Home, Dr Goindi and all the Carefor Staff.

Leaving a lasting mark on all who knew him-George will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

He will be remembered – Aye Ready Aye

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Saturday, June 7, 2025, for a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m., with Interment and Reception to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.

For those who wish to donate in memory of George, you may do so towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

God Bless and Rest in Peace.

George,

You were a legend in the Supplementary Radio community! Your care and support for CFS Alert and all who served there was greatly appreciated. I will miss our infrequent chats and your tales of CFS Alert and how it’s evolved over the years.

My deepest condolences to your family and loved ones.

George, you are forever the King of the North. No one has put as much love or effort in ensure the success of the Northern enterprise as you have. You have left a legacy, and your presence will be missed in all future operations in Pituffik and Alert. The condolences to your family from all you worked with in Winnipeg.
