Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family in Gatineau on Thursday August 17th 2023 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of France Riopel, cherished father to Marc-André and Isabelle (Kyle Fournier) and proud “Pépère” of Talia and Layla.   

Dear brother to Adèle, Louise (Pierre Lauriault), Lucie, Michel (Sylvie Giguère), Jean, Julie and Philippe (Camille Cyr), brother-in-law to Lise (Denis Bonhomme) and Yves (Clair Villeneuve) and uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

He will be dearly missed by his friends at the Buckingham Curling Club and brothers and sister-in-arms.  

Predeceased by his parents Thérèse (née Gagnon) et Eugène Charron.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses with the palliative care team on the 5th floor North at the Gatineau Hospital for their kindness and care.

Friends and family are invited to pay respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood ave. Ottawa, Saturday August 26th after 9:00a.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 10:00 a.m. followed by urn interment at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces at 11:00 a.m. A gathering for rememberance will take place afterward. In memoriam, if you wish to, please direct any donations to Oncology at the Gatineau Health Foundation.

I worked with Frank since the mid 1990s in Ottawa. He was an incredible person and remember attending his depart with dignity luncheon on December 15, 2016. It was an incredible luncheon and I will miss him very much. Sincere condolences to his family.

Frank was the best of the best. I remember him from our days playing for MCE hockey team. He kept us all laughing ....he was also a very good player !! I will surely miss him dearly. My deepest condolences to his Family. Plse know that we all loved Frank !!

Cher Frank, aucun mot ne peu exprimer le grand vide que tu laisses dans nos vies. Tu es un exemple de bravoure et détermination. Tu auras été toi même jusqu’à la fin … drôle et réconfortant. Merci d’avoir répandu le bonheur et la joie autour de toi. Tu es dans nos cœurs à jamais.

France, Marc-André, Isabelle et Kyle, ainsi que la belle grande famille de Frank, nous sommes de tout cœur avec vous durant cette période difficile. Nous vous offrons tous nos sincères condoléances. 🕊💕
