Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family in Gatineau on Thursday August 17th 2023 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of France Riopel, cherished father to Marc-André and Isabelle (Kyle Fournier) and proud “Pépère” of Talia and Layla.   

Dear brother to Adèle, Louise (Pierre Lauriault), Lucie, Michel (Sylvie Giguère), Jean, Julie and Philippe (Camille Cyr), brother-in-law to Lise (Denis Bonhomme) and Yves (Clair Villeneuve) and uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

He will be dearly missed by his friends at the Buckingham Curling Club and brothers and sister-in-arms.  

Predeceased by his parents Thérèse (née Gagnon) et Eugène Charron.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses with the palliative care team on the 5th floor North at the Gatineau Hospital for their kindness and care.

Friends and family are invited to pay respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood ave. Ottawa, Saturday August 26th after 9:00a.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 10:00 a.m. followed by urn interment at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces at 11:00 a.m. A gathering for rememberance will take place afterward. In memoriam, if you wish to, please direct any donations to Oncology at the Gatineau Health Foundation.

RIP Frank.

I remember our days at 5Svc Bn in Valcartier and running into you again when you were the Chief Clerk at CFLS in Ottawa. You were a very dedicated and hard working “Clerk” and you will be missed by many of us.

Very sorry to hear of Frank’s passing and am in awe of the bravery you showed in the end.
