C'est avec une grande tristesse que la famille annonce le décès de Sharanne Patricia Paquette (née Bellamy) le 21 février 2024. Elle a été emportée par le cancer après avoir tenté de le combattre pendant plus de 2 ans.
Sharanne est née à London, Ontario en 1959 et laisse dans le deuil son mari bien-aimé Daniel Paquette et ses 3 enfants adorés : Stéphane (Vy Tran), Marc (Kacie Layton) et Renée (Roberto Colaiacovo). Elle laisse également dans le deuil ses parents George et Ann Bellamy et son frère David (Jennifer), tous de Toronto.
Sharanne était une âme originale, gentille et compatissante qui plaçait la famille en premier; elle était si fière de ses 3 enfants qui héritent chacun encore aujourd’hui de son énergie et de sa curiosité. Sharanne avait une passion pour le dessin et l’art qui a commencé sous l'influence de sa mère, s'est poursuivie à l'université avec un diplôme en urbanisme (mineure beaux-arts) et s'est terminée par une carrière en aménagement paysager (après son retour à l'école) où on lui a confié la création de jardins et d'espace d'agrément pour certaines des plus belles propriétés d'Ottawa. Sharanne était orientée vers la communauté et était active dans les questions civiques locales; elle a également siégé au Comité de dérogation de la Ville d’Ottawa. La nature sympathique de Sharanne a cultivé de nombreuses amitiés tout au long de son parcours. Elle était une épouse aimante et solidaire.
La famille tient à remercier la docteure Stephanie Brulé de l'Hôpital général d'Ottawa, la docteure Natasha Leighl de l'hôpital Princess Margaret et le personnel du May Court Hospice pour les soins qu'ils ont prodigués à Sharanne pendant sa maladie.
La famille et amis sont invités au Centre commémoratif national Beechwood, 280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa, Une Célébration de la vie aura lieu le vendredi 5 avril à 10h30 en l’Espace sacré du Centre commémoratif national Beechwood. I got to know Sharanne in the past couple of years, first meeting at the Ottawa Cancer Foundation where I offer Reiki sessions. I so much appreciated her big heart and the courage with which she went through her treatment. I felt that knowing her enriched my life.
