C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Robert Racette, survenu le 9 décembre 2023, à l’âge de 71 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil sa complice depuis 21 ans, Hélène Huong Ton.
Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses beaux-parents et les membres de sa belle-famille, ses chers cousines et cousins, ses neveux et leurs enfants ainsi que des amis proches.
La célébration de la vie de Robert aura lieu le dimanche 17 décembre 2023 de 13h à 16h, au Centre commémoratif national Beechwood, 280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa ON K1L 8A6.
Au lieu de fleurs, vos témoignages de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à la Fondation de l’hôpital Montfort, à la Société canadienne du cancer ou la Banque d’alimentation d’Ottawa, selon votre convenance.
La famille tient à remercier tous ceux et celles qui lui ont prodigué des soins exceptionnels à Robert au cours de l’année : Dr. Chan, Dr. Pires, Dr. Hsu, Dr. Daoud, l’équipe des soins du département d’oncologie de l’hôpital Général d’Ottawa et le service de soin à domicile St-Elizabeth.

Nous te souhaitons nos plus sincères condoléances pour la perte de l’être très cher qu’était Robert pour toi. Robert a sûrement passé les plus belles années de sa vie avec toi à ses côtés. Tu as su lui donner beaucoup d’affection et d’amour. En retour il a certes fait de même pour toi. Malgré la douleur et l’énorme peine que tu éprouves, sache que Robert sera toujours présent dans tes pensées et dans ton coeur.
Dans les mots aimables et sincères de Robert qui me faisait toujours plaisir d’entendre lorsque nous avions l’occasion de se parler « Salut cher cousin ». Tu vas nous manquer énormément cher Robert. Tu es parti beaucoup trop tôt…

Gia đình anh An và gia đình nhỏ của tụi em thương gửi đến chị lời chia buồn sâu sắc nhất. Vô cùng thương tiếc về sự mất mát quá lớn này cùng chị và rất buồn vì tụi em không thể sắp xếp để đến tiễn anh Robert lần cuối!
Anh Robert ơi, em mong anh ở thế giới mới luôn được an yên không còn đau đớn vì bệnh tật, em Na luôn nhớ đến anh Robert của em thiệt hiền và nhẹ nhàng. Em rất thích chuyến đi du lịch cùng anh và chị tại Đà Lạt năm 2013, và chuyến đi họp mặt gia đình tại Montreal năm 2018. Và rất may mắn ngày vui nhất của em cũng được sự hiện diện của anh và chị tại Hà Lan cùng tụi em trong năm 2019. Nấm cũng rất buồn vì chưa được gặp Bác Robert, nhưng Nấm cũng rất tình cảm và khi được em kể về anh Nấm cũng hiểu chuyện và biết anh là người thân trong gia đình mình nên Nấm cũng sẽ luôn nhớ đến bác Robert và còn biết nguyện cầu cho bác Robert nữa. Hình ảnh của bác Robert sẽ luôn trong tim Nấm qua những món quà ý nghĩa mà bác Robert đã dành tặng Nấm cho những kỉ niệm đầu đời. Em mong anh yên nghỉ nhẹ nhàng và cả gia đình lớn của mình sẽ luôn nhớ đến anh ❤️

My dear chi Tung Huong, I sit here trying to write a condolence to chi Tung Huong, but the memory of Robert flooded my mind.
I am fortunate to have Robert to look up to. Robert took us to the beautiful parks in Canada. He shared with us the places he hold dear in his heart,
the restaurants that offered comfort foods to our souls.
He shared his thoughts of the cultures, and the locals that he visited around the world.
All along his journey, Tung Huong was at his side. So chi Tung Huong, let's drown the sorrow with the warmth he had filled our hearts, and the with cherished memories he filled our mind.
