C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Ginette Gilbert-Rasuli, survenu paisiblement le 14 juin 2025, après un combat courageux contre la SLA. Pionnière dans le domaine des soins de santé au Canada, elle fut parmi les premières infirmières praticiennes au pays, consacrant sa vie à soigner les autres et à faire progresser la profession qu’elle aimait tant.
En tant qu’infirmière praticienne et professeure universitaire, Ginette a guidé des centaines d’étudiants et offert des soins empreints de compassion à des centaines de patients au fil de sa carrière. Son héritage perdure dans toutes les vies qu’elle a touchées — comme soignante, enseignante et défenseure du bien commun.
Au-delà de ses réalisations professionnelles, Ginette était reconnue pour sa persévérance, sa détermination et sa grande générosité. Elle affrontait chaque défi avec grâce et force, et son courage dans ses dernières années de vie n’a fait que le confirmer.
Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux Pasteur Rasuli, ses enfants Kevin (Stacy) et Jasmine (James), ainsi que ses petits-enfants adorés, William et Sophie. Elle laisse également dans le chagrin ses frères René (Carole) et Mario (Suzy), ainsi que ses sœurs Linda (Lucien), Patricia, Céline (Sylvain) et Nathalie (Jean-Claude). Elle laisse aussi dans le deuil de nombreux neveux et nièces qu’elle aimait tendrement.
Une cérémonie funéraire afin de célébrer la vie et l'héritage de Ginette aura lieu au Centre commémoratif national Beechwood, 280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa, le samedi 5 juillet à 13h La famille recevra les parents et amis à compter de 11h30.
En guise de condoléances, la famille invite ceux qui le souhaitent à faire un don à la Société canadienne de la SLA en sa mémoire.
Elle nous manquera profondément, sera tendrement rappelée, et vivra à jamais dans nos cœurs.

I was so very sorry to hear of Ginette's illness and recent passing. I wish that things had been different for her. Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathies.
She was such a bright light, and a kind, generous soul to work with at PQCHC, and had contributed much to the centre, its clientele and the local nursing-NP community.
Our world had been definitely brighter with she in it with her radiant smiles.
Having shared an office with Ginette over a few years in the past, she spoke frequently of her beloved family members, who were most definitely her pride and joy.
Hoping that you may all find ready support/comfort from loved ones during this raw, tender time. And in the days ahead, may you too come to find a sign/glimmer that helps provide you all with hope, reassurance and comfort that she is now well, and at peace, and is still with you in spirit.
