Joan Cummings passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa on Monday, March 24th, 2025 due to a respiratory infection and pneumonia. She is predeceased by husband Wayne, brother Ronald (Kathy) and parents Ervine and Rella Good of Bathurst, NB. Survived by daughter Tina (Craig) and grandchildren Jasmine and Benjamin of Edmonton.. Also survived by older sister Dawn (Harold) of Ottawa, younger sister Judy of Bathurst, NB and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Bathurst, NB, Joan followed her sister Dawn to Ottawa in 1960. There she married husband Wayne.and had 1 daughter, Tina. She had many happy times camping at Riverside-Cedar Provincial Park and having other camping adventures across Canada. There was also much laughter playing cards with friends and family. She spent many years at Hawthorne United Church as a Sunday school treasurer and Elder. In her last years she was a resident of The Glebe Centre Long Term Care facility.
Friends and family can attend a drop-in gathering at Beechwood Cemetary, 280 Beechwood Ave, on Friday, April 4th, from 10am to noon.. Her interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
