It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Grace Hedgecoe, who left us peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 96.

Norma was a loving mother to her two daughters, Laura Prevost and Carole Rush (Edward), and a devoted grandmother to Amanda Benson (Connor), Teegan Prevost (Grayson), Louise Rush (Tanner), and Charlotte Besler (Brendon). Norma was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Savannah Grace Benson, who brought her immense joy. Norma was predeceased by her parents Michael and Aileen Montone, and her brother Howard Montone.

A longtime and cherished member of St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, Norma found great fulfillment in her faith and the friendships she built there. She was also an active participant in The Good Companions Senior Centre and the Ottawa English Rights Group, where she dedicated her time to supporting and uplifting those around her. Norma had an incredible ability to connect with people, always making room in her heart for new friendships. Those who knew Norma will remember her warmth, her unwavering kindness, and the way she could brighten a room with her presence. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and community.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Norma’s life will be held at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church (934 Hamlet Rd, Ottawa) on Saturday April 26 at 11:00 am, where friends and loved ones are welcome to gather in remembrance. The Service will be followed by a Reception in the Church Hall, and Interment at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Good Companions or St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, in honor of Norma’s lifelong dedication to service and friendship.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.

My condolences to the Hedgecoe family.
I have such good memories of the years on Weston Drive. Norma and I kept in touch all these past years. This last Christmas we didn't write because of the mail strike.
May she rest in peace now.
