Forever young at heart, Sheila Mary McLean (nee Marshall) passed away peacefully on Monday December 12, 2022, after a short stay at the Montfort Hospital. Sheila is survived by her son Bryan (Cathy McLean), grandsons Scott (Lydia Jones-Dubé) and Matthew (Katelyn Cullen), great-grandson Keegan, and sister Maureen Franklin.
Sheila was born in Montreal, Quebec on April 17, 1930. She spent many summers at Lake L’Achigan in the Laurentians and often danced the night away to the sounds of the Big Bands in downtown Montreal. Sheila married the love of her life, Roy McLean, in 1955 and had their only son Bryan three years later. She will be remembered for hosting and attending wonderful dinner parties with Mike and Lillian Dooley, Peter and Irene Parkes, Tom and Dody Desmarais and many others! Sheila and Roy moved to Ottawa in 1996 to be close to their grandchildren and could often be found at various basketball, football and rugby games cheering on the boys. “Shoe-shot Sheila” was always the life of the party and developed close relationships with many of Bryan and Cathy’s friends and family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Montfort Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Friends and Family are invited to visit at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 1:00PM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations can be directed to the Montfort Hospital Foundations Angel Program - For Angel Anne Roberts (Palliative Care Coordinator) or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Our sincere condolences. I have so many fond memories of Roy and Sheila sharing laughter, food, wine and music with the Desmarais, Peter and Irene, and others. I wouldn't know where to begin. She was a vibrant soul, full of fun with just the right dose of mischief. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our deepest sympathy to Bryan, Cathy, Scott, Matthew and the whole McLean Family. Sheila was definitely forever young and her constant “joie de vivre” was an inspiration to us. Any time we were with her there was so much laughter. We will miss her.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Bryan and Cathy and the whole McLean family. We have known Sheila since the early 70"s. Debbie worked with her at Montreal Trust. Firstly as a student hired to replace holidaying staff and later as full time staff in the Personal Trust Dept.
Sheila was always the telephone message relayer for our budding romance. I will always remember Sheila's warmth, her good humour and generosity. We shared so many dinners in Chateauguay, QC. She was the"hostess with the mostest." We will miss her and her marvellous sense of humour.

Sheila was a great neighbour and we will remember her for her laughter, her parties and her love for her family and biting into life with both hands. She will be dearly missed by many.
