Our beloved brother, uncle and dear friend, Randall (Randy) Brian Lester passed away peacefully July 8, 2022 at age 75. Born in Ottawa, Randy is predeceased by his parents Kenneth Lester and Mavis Sparks, and his brother Michael. Randy is survived by his brothers Wayne (Deborah) and Peter (Susan), sister Carol Cameron (Richard), sister-in-law Kathryn Dunlop, nieces Lauren and Chelsea, and nephews Lee, Shane and Corey. Randy will be remembered with love for his gentleness, compassion, generosity and his fondness for pets. Randy's lifelong electrical interests and creativity with generators, motors and transformers filled much of his work and leisure time. Randy's loyalty, devotion and spirited laughter will be dearly missed by his family. Special thanks to nursing home staff member Wendy Carty for her kindness, compassion, friendship and devoted care during the last 2 years of Randy's declining health. Friends and family are invited to visit the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 5 to 8:00PM. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 2:30PM, followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

As a youngster and cousin to Randy, I spent many enjoyable days years ago visiting the Lester family each summer enjoying the company of Wayne, Randy and the rest of the family. They were treasured times back in the day. Barb and I want to express our sincere condolences to the entire Lester family in this time of sorrow and loss.
Tom and I were saddened to read of Randy’s passing. He was a gentle soul. His life was enriched by the caring kindness shown by you Wayne, Peter, and Carol. We stay close to home these days so won’t be visiting with you. Our deepest condolences.
