Don died peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Belot (née Smith). Father of Ross, David (Sara), Marjorie (Doug), and Gordon (Laura). Grandfather of Heather (Steve), Neil, Alison (Chris), Erinn (Chris), Connor, and Erik. Great- grandfather of Owen, Chloe, Carson, and Grace. He is survived by his brothers, Gordon and Robert. Predeceased by his sister Frances.
Don will be remembered for his generous spirit, his wry humor, his love for his family, and his selfless devotion to Audrey. In his final years, the affection and support of all the people in Ottawa who cared about him and whose help allowed him to maintain his independence meant the world to him. At the end of his life, he received unparalleled care at the Civic Hospital from the amazing staff of ward B5.
