It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Herbert Mumby, born November 17, 1939 in Lethbridge, Alberta, announce his peaceful passing on April 18, 2022.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 59 years Marion, who was always by his side.  He was a dedicated father to his daughter Ruth Ann (Steve) Sullivan and his son Dale (Wendy), loving grandfather to Mark (Maryse), Katie (Jordan), Tyanna, Donald, and Declan and great grandfather to Colby, Florence, Eloise, and Gabriel.

Donald is survived by his brother Larry (Aleta) and sister Carol (Larry) Blenner-Hassett.

Donald joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1958 and retired as a Chief Superintendent following a 35 year career that he loved. Donald was also a proud Mason and served as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in 2003-2005.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave., Vanier, ON on April 26, 2022.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with a Service following at 1:00pm.  The Celebration of Life; with the exclusion of the Masonic Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donald Herbert Mumby’s name to the Orleans United Church, The Tunis Shriners, or a charity of their choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Montfort Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Donald.

This is heart breaking ? news. Please accept my deepest condolences to Marion and the entire Mumby clan. I worked for Don as his administrative assistant for several years in the mid-80's - I loved his sense of humour - we had a great rapport and could make the other laugh or smile when having a bad day. Like Don, my dad was a Mason so we had more than just work in common - Don enlightened me to some things "Masonic" that my dad never had so I acquired a greater understanding and appreciation for what that organization stands for and believes in. I'm sure Don will be greatly missed by many people. Rest in Peace my friend.
