Lorna Joan Patricia (MacDonald) Miles, born March 17, 1935, died March 15, 2026, two days short of her 91st birthday.
Beloved wife of Barton (Barry) Miles, who sadly passed away on March 25, 2026. Devoted mother of Laura, Barbara (Tom), Catherine (Charlie), Robert (Kathy) and Craig (Sherry).
Proud grandmother of Jennifer, Melissa, Miles, Victoria (Cory), Jessica, Dale, Michael, Matthew, Christina, Daniel, Cecily and Graham, and great-grandmother of Leiah, Landon, Nolan, Annabelle, Tilly, Shea, Walter and Malcolm.
Lorna was endlessly curious about the world around her, a committed volunteer to a variety of organizations, and in moves across Canada with her husband easily made friends wherever she landed. She had a lovely singing voice which will be missed by residents of Perley Health, and a terrific sense of humour. She loved nothing more than a good laugh with friends and family and it is with great sadness that we mark her passing.
A celebration of life for Lorna and Barry will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Lorna’s family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful staff of Perley Health who cared for her over her time there.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Perley Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. It's always difficult to lose a parent.

Lorna and Barry were wonderful neighbours, and have been missed here in Barrhaven. My daughter's reaction to hearing about Lorna's passing summed it up well...
😢She was such a lovely woman and she and Barry gave me some really great childhood memories, from their cottage to fresh cut flowers and baked goods. Mr and Mrs Clause in the window every year. 🫂

My deepest sympathies to the Miles Family. I will always remember her laughing and enjoying life. She created an enviable family bond and I'm sure she has left you with wonderful memories.

Lorna was always ready to laugh and share her gardening knowledge. She was a great friend to my late mother and a friend of mine. She would love me to meet someone new with her by saying “ we’re the two Lornas, she’s the good one and I’m the naughty one “.
She would make cookies for my daughter. Kindness and laughter is how I remember her.
We will always have fond memories of Lorna in Barrhaven. She was a great person and much loved by all who knew her. Her family are in my thoughts and prayer!
