On February 12, 2026, Donald Lloyd, husband of Hazel Mary for 63 years, died at home after a brief illness. He leaves son Ian R. Mackenzie (Julie), grandchildren Alexander and Laura, in Ottawa, and daughter Helen M. Mackenzie (Bill Kehew), grandchildren Everett and Jessie, in Woodstock, Ontario. He leaves many nieces and nephews across Canada.

Born in Truro, Nova Scotia to William and Jessie (MacIntosh), he graduated from Queen's University in 1954. He worked in Toronto and Montreal, where he met and married Hazel in 1959 and in 1969, they settled in Ottawa.  Upon retirement in 1988, he enjoyed travel and the company of his family and friends. Thanks are due to the team of home health care professionals who cared for him in the last days of his life.

All are welcome to attend the visitation from 10am-11am, with the celebration of life taking place at 11am, and a reception to follow on Saturday, March 28th at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON).

His memory would be best honoured by a donation to any favourite charity. Donald's favourites included Seed Change and the Cancer Research Society.

A friend for twenty years has left us in mourning. Donald had a positive life view. He enjoyed going out with people, seeing and doing things. He was also a host par excellence. We had many fun times together. We will miss him.

We met you Donald and Hazel far too late. You were both wonderful friends even though we live over 16,000kms away. We will never forget our times together both traveling and when visiting you at home.

Nous gardons un très bon souvenir de notre visite à Toronto chez Hazel et Donald . Ils nous ont fait visiter leur ville et découvrir le meilleur Fish and chips et salade de homard . Qu’ils reposent en paix tous les deux .
