It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Camilla Marie Suzette Gallibois (“Camy”) on Wednesday April 23rd, 2025 in her 58th year.

Born on May 30th, 1967, in Blanc-Sablon, Quebec, loving wife and soul mate to Mike Brajak. Proud and devoted mother of Eli Gallibois (Nicole) and predeceased by her daughter, Kluanie Gallibois and her loving parents, Meva and Roy Gallibois.

Camy is survived by her loving sister and best friend, Lisette Gallibois (Barry), her father and mother in law, Janko and Jelka Brajak, and her sisters and brothers in law, Mary Brajak (Mike) and Vlado Brajak (Nicole). She is deeply loved and missed by her godchildren Nathaniel Nadeau, Jeffery Evans and Jaimesyn Bobbitt-Morency. Her absence is wholeheartedly felt by her long time best friend and “sister”, Ivy-Anne McKinnon (Michael). Camy leaves behind nieces and nephews and a great niece that will forever love and miss her.

To say Camy has touched the lives of many would be an understatement. Always willing to lend a hand, be there in your time of need, celebrate your achievements and pick you up when you were down, Camy leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will be felt by anyone who has met her.

Professionally Camy proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 27 years, a clerk by trade she took care of everybody’s administrative problems in every unit that she served, in Canada and overseas in Egypt. Camy was a decorated soldier and wore her medals proudly. Upon retirement Camy continued to serve her country and fellow veterans as a public servant for 3 more years continuously working to make things right.

Camy had a long time desire to learn sewing and quilting, she started volunteering with Quilts of Valour in 2020. At first she employed her skills and experience to help clean up the administrative backlog, she took on being a presenter and then added regional representative of 3 provinces, started sewing, and the list kept growing. She selflessly dedicated herself to the organization in the hopes that a quilt would bring comfort to a veteran in need. With her loving and supportive husband by her side, she presented quilts and facilitated in the presentation of quilts to many Veterans throughout Canada.

In lieu of flowers, in memory of Camy, donations to Quilts of Valour – Canada Society would be appreciated.  https://www.quiltsofvalour.ca/donate.

Cremation has taken place. Family to receive on Saturday May 3rd, 2025 between 1:30 and 3pm at Eglise Catholique Saint-Nicholas Tavelic, 4990 Pl. de la Savane, Montreal, Quebec. A Service will follow at 3pm. Reception to follow in the church basement. Burial will take place at Beechwood Cemetery at a later date, when Mike and Eli will be ready.

You were a true human being; always warm and compassionate to me. I will profoundly miss our neighbourly driveway discussions.

Rest in peace Camy.

Camy, although we only had an afternoon in person, it was instantly obvious how powerful your heart was the moment we started texting. You’ve been through a lot in your life, and yet you always found a way to give to everyone who needed anything, and you did it without expectation. You brought comfort, joy and deep companionship full of love to my cousin and you enchanted his entire family with your capacity, capabilities and your innate ability to bond. I am so very saddened to hear you have left us so early Camy, still with so much love in your heart left to give. I can only imagine you were needed elsewhere and that you are doing what you do best where you are- loving people.
My deepest condolences Mike. I will reach out once things have settled some. Sending everyone our love.

May we meet again Camy.

My heart goes out to Eli, Mike, and Camy’s siblings who enjoyed many positive years of relating with Camy, particularly in advance of the declining health of their father. Remembering the supportive, fun Camy that I met at Colinda’s Xmas and other parties years ago. Rest in peace.
