Passed away surrounded by family in Ottawa on Sunday, April 27th at the age of 69 years. Tony leaves behind his beloved wife Fiona Droeske and his cherished daughter Erica. Son of Gerald “Gerry” Angers and the late Mollie Angers. Predeceased by his brothers Michael, Robert “Bobby”, Richard “Ricki” and Charles “Charlie”.

Tony will be sadly missed by countless friends and extended family. He will also be missed by numerous clients from his lifelong accounting practice. Tony was a lover of music, a fantastic father, and early morning river walker. His humour, kindness, and gentle nature will stay with us all.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a Celebration of Life on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Tony, please consider doing so towards Muscular Dystrophy Canada or to The Ottawa Valley Bird Care Centre. Messages of condolence may be left at www.beechwoodottawa.ca

My sympathies to Fiona and Erica and all who knew Tony. A number of us were thick as thieves back in the day, Tony among us. Sharing in music and shenanigans was the glue that bound us as a group. Many happy crazy times filled with laughter and the unabashed confidence, spirit and silliness of youth. I’d not trades those days for anything. So long friend and peace to you.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Uncle Gerry, Fiona and Erica, in the passing of my dear cousin Tony. We are heartbroken to realize that he is no longer with us. My history with Tony spans many years. As children, I spent many summers with Uncle Gerry, Auntie Molly and her sweet "boys". In later years, we enjoyed our visits to Ottawa to visit the family. We would always go for long walks along Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, the ByWard Market and so on. Our biggest challenge was to "keep up" with "the Angers clan", as they were avid and rapid walkers! We enjoyed their hospitality and bbqs at their home. Tony had a gentle nature...was thoughtful and always fun to be with. He will always remain in our hearts.

Please accept my sincere condolences Fiona, for the loss of your husband and mate at such a young age. Although I only knew Tony mostly from our younger days of beer, laughs and jamming and later via his encouragement to me about passing an accounting 101 exam as a mature student, we chanced to meet up on Bank Street later on as though the man upstairs just wanted us to greet one another one more time.
